"Foie gras" literally means "fat liver" in French.
It was discovered in antiquity by the Egyptians who realized that before their annual migration, geese had a tendency to eat a lot. As a result, their liver transformed into something unique that became foie gras.
Foie gras is sterilized and cooked at a minimum temperature of 100°C. It has a rustic flavor.
How to taste it?
Take the foie gras out of the fridge 15 minutes before tasting.
